Juicing Log – Star Date 66901.7

Sorry about the Star Trek reference. I am a big fan though. Just thought… why not. Btw that is the star date for when I wrote this post 🙂

Right, so yesterday I made a juice and left it in the fridge. This morning, I drank said juice and remembered my wife would be joining me on my lunch juice.

Without a care in the world. I took a stroll, limped most of the way there. But made it! I picked up some celery and came home. Nice enough walk, but painful too. Had to skip the Boots visit.

Now the ingredients. I had to make enough for two and so I had to improvise. My wife had used all but one tomato and I ran out of spinach. Kale is extemely had to find here. I remember the farmers market in Philly always had Kale, nice size too! Right so here is what I used for today:

  • 4 large celery sticks
  • 5 carrots
  • 1 tomato 😦
  • 1/2 a cucumber
  • 1.5 handfuls of spinach
  • 1 bag of mixed leaves (lettuce, rocket)
  • 4 green apples (granny smith)
  • 1/4 lemon (skin removed)

After juicing all of that I had 1.3 litres of juice. Which is perfect. So my wife had a glass of 550ml and I had 650ml. Kinda great! The following photo shows how awesome it looks…


This is the best kind of beer! Its all natural and has an awesome head to it! Wife is really enjoying the taste.


Juicing – Lunch (still on the test day)

So I managed to make another juice.  I believe I am supposed to be having 3 juices a day. But not just the juice, I’ll be having 6 – 8 glasses of water as well. This is the detox the body needs. After all the junk I have been putting in here (my body), it’s about time it got some good stuff…  Well, here is it. The only difference from this morning one is the addition of some lemon. Tastes about the same. I can see this is going to be tough, even if I done it before.

  • 2 toms
  • 2 sticks of celery (large)
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 green apples
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • handful of spinach
  • 1/3 lemon
  • – Came up to 660ml

Apologies for not having a photo.  It looked the same as this mornings one, so I didn’t see the point. Well, I am still feeling pretty good, nothing wrong here.  But it’s not like I’ve had to move much. I am supposed to be resting 🙂

I just hope this really helps.  After reading through the links I posted this morning, I see more and more the benefits of juicing. The things vegetables are used to cure, certain ailments can be cured with this. Not that I have any, I just want to make sure I am healthy and fit.  Well, the juicing scratches off healthy. I just need to get back to the P90X routine. I have been instructed, so serious training, so now just waiting….

Juicing Day 13 – Lunch (jointhereboot.com)

We were out of a lot of the veggies! So there was no juice on the menu this afternoon!  I thought I’d just mix together everything else I could find into a great salad!! It was great indeed!!!!!

See the recipe below, I put in loads of veggies. I really enjoy vegetables sautéed and salads seem to do the trick for me.  As long as I have a little salad dressing this is a meal in my mind! Although this time I had no dressing.  I’ll be creating a salad dressing for the evening salad.  Yes I made so much, I had enough for the evening meal as well.

I am looking to change the name of the Blog as I do not want to lose the Posts I added.  I’ll be changing this so something which I’ll be taking care of over the next few months. Just thinking of a good name for the blog, it’s for my upcoming wedding! See you at dinner time…. I’ll post a good picture for the evening meal as it will be my last for the juicing diet.

  • Avocado
  • Beetroot

NOTE: Celery contained a number of, lets call them organisms…  I didn’t look close enough to find out. I threw that bad boy outta here!!!

Juicing Day 12 – Lunch (jointhereboot.com)

Let me start by apologizing!

Why I hear you ask?  Or not…. I could not have juice, there were not enough vegetables to get the juice made. So I had to saute some veg instead. I feel terrible for doing that.  But I have to admit, it was filling, and very tasty. I cannot deny that I am looking forward to eating again. But I did decide that I will continue to juice, and will do either one day a week or 4 days a month.

The health benefits are real, and it’s something I think everyone should do.

Sadly, there is no photo. I just went down, and was trying to figure out what to do. So taking a picture didn’t cross my mind, although it did look good. Whilst having lunch, my cousin showed me some recipes she had printed off.  All healthy dishes, like salads and appetizers. To be honest some of the appetizers could have been considered entrée’s though!

We have a list of recipes we are going to try out.  So I think this blog, may change into a cooking blog! I will need to change the name.  What should I call it?

So in the sauté, we had:

Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, Potato (I know this should have been left out, but I didn’t make it) and Carrots.

Lunchables! Well, if they were all veg, without the cheese, and just juice….  OK maybe not…

So as I mentioned I am going to stick to juices as per usual.  I’ll do juices for the meals and then have more fruit for the snacks.  That will probably help with the weight loss part.  I noticed I did not lose my usual 1lb a day.  Which is a little annoying, but ah well.  What can you do.  Clearly I messed up somewhere.

See the image on the left of the froth.  I am liking the colors.  I am now trying to juice them in such a way that I get a nice pattern afterwards. Just so I can make sure the photos are different 🙂 The things I do for you, my readers lol

Enjoy the recipe, I did mix in one more veg into this.  Although you cannot really taste it, Radishes!


  • 2 Tomatoes

    2 Radishes
  • 5 Kale Leaves (I put the bag away before I counted them)
  • 1 green Apple
  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 cup of Parsley
  • 1/2 Cucumber

Nothing beats a beet!

So I was searching through the fridge and found that I had neglected the beets I bought over the weekend. So a new recipe! Sweet!  Result: Tastes great!

You can taste the Beetroot right away, its subtle and mixes well with the carrot.  I think This is one of my fav lunch drinks! Really enjoying it. It’s actually a refreshing change,  The Beetroot adds a little something and masks the taste of the Kale. So there is no more of the grassy taste or smell for that matter. I should have added in the clove of Garlic though, as I am sure I’ll need it. The froth looks great with the red from the Beetroot!

This evenings dinner is not going to be a juice, my cousin is going to saute some vegetables for us to eat. So pop back later, I’ll see if I can take some photos of it.

NOTE: Make sure you cut the Beetroot carefully! As it can stain, so I made sure I cut it slowly and over the sink.
