Juicing Day 13 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

OK, so the photo above was a close up, really close! It’s my salad.  Sadly I didn’t get time to make a dressing, and ended up not having anything. The photo from lunch would have looked very much like this, although it had less Sweetcorn and less Mushroom.

This was a good way to go out. I feel like I have eaten my first meal.  Sadly, I will miss the juice even though I said some nasty things about them over the last 13 days.

I have learnt a lot about the different fruits and vegetables I have been juicing. After all this, I can see the benefits are real and would recommend it to everyone. Before this I needed a nap right after lunch.  Since starting the juice, I haven’t required a nap! I also find that I am ready to go as soon as I wake up. Natural energy is a very real benefit of this. Not sure if my skin got better, as I generally have pretty good skin. I was losing weight for the first 8 days as well, just from the belly.  I think with Juicing and a good exercise plan, you could easily lose weight and get healthy!

So here is the recipe, I didn’t mean to leave a lengthy message above, I was going to write something a bit later once I had collected my thoughts… Enjoy…

Recipe:

  • Sweetcorn
  • Avocado
  • Beetroot
  • Lettuce
  • Green Pepper
  • Jalapeno
  • Red Onion
  • Mushroom (sautéed)

Juicing Day 12 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Who let the juice loose around this hoose?! I love Fruit Pastilles!

It’s that time again.  Yes I am having my last juice for the day!  After this I may just follow up with a glass of hot water with lemon, but before that, some fruit.

It’s a lovely red color again, but I am really having to keep an eye on it, as I do not want to drop any on my clothes or the carpet.  So I was really looking after myself when cutting the Beetroot.

I tried to bulk up the juice, as I wanted to make sure I had covered everything I needed nutrients wise.  Although I understand that I will not be getting everything in one juice. The Beetroot flavor is taking over everything. It’s covering the kale and celery. I should have added a clove of garlic into this, dang it! I forgot.

Again, like yesterday, I ran it through a sieve again. This time I did it twice just to make sure. Second time round I still managed to get some “gunk” out of it.

Recipe:

  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Beetroots
  • 2 sticks of Celery
  • 1 Kiwi
  • 1 green Apple
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 6 Kale leaves

Juicing Day 11 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Another day, another meal, another juice!

I have completed today! NICE! Well done me.  I have four more days, and the Kale is almost finished. I could still get some more. I’ll see if I need any after tomorrow.

OK, so after placing the photo in to the left.  I thought it looked familiar.  Then I realized it was lunch.  Well, not actually lunch. It looks very similar. The difference is this recipe had Carrots. As you can see there is a little bit of orange mixed in with the red.

This actually tastes good. Not great, just good. Better than the lunch juice.  Not sure why, maybe to do with not putting any Parsley in. This one is smoother as well, and that is because I sieved the juice after it was juiced.

So one thing I have noticed over the last 11 days is that with all juices, after juicing, I end up with different layers as the juicer pours the juices in. At the top where the froth is, are little bits of vegetable I suspect, so I sieved these out. There was a lot in there.  I normally drink this, not sure what made me take it out. Trying something new I guess 🙂

Enjoy everyone!

  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Beetroots
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 2 sticks of Celery

Juicing Day 10 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Ho Ho Ho Green Giant!

Who love’s Green Giant? Everyone does! Sweet corn in a tin is probably not as healthy as the cob version, but it tastes grrrrrrrrrreat!

So dinner, sautéed some vegetables, had a plateful and a large glass of warm water with Lime. Veggies in the mix were: Broccoli, Carrot, Onions, Green Peppers.  Hell if I knew this was an option, I would have tried this sooner.  A little salt, some chillies and some pepper, makes it a meal. Sadly there was no picture, I’ll do one tomorrow, I was not prepared for dinner being served.  Didn’t even have my phone on me!!

I think dinner tomorrow maybe this as well, but I’ll throw in some Kale, Mushrooms, Celery and should I do Beets as well? I need some advice on that… I think the Beetroot might be too much. I’ll check the Join The Reboot site see what other recipes they have. As usual I’ll keep you guys (this includes gals as well) posted!

I am rather hoping I will be able to sleep tonight, after last night.  I do not need to have another sleepless night.  If I do, I’ll be sure to write-up some more posts. Thanks for reading, Mr Patel Out!

Juicing Day 9 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Sorry about the lunch update, there really was nothing to write about, I had left overs.

Anywho, dinner time! So it’s back to juices!! Wait, why am I so excited?! The notion of Kale juice and the smell of it does drive me to pick up a pack of baked Cheetos! Oh how I miss them. They are pretty awesome, I think a large pack of those, my better half, a bottle of red and a movie, that sounds like a great evening!! Sorry, focus Depak…  Back to the juice.  This is not half bad, I think because there is so much of it, the taste of the Kale and Celery has watered down.  Tastes really good now!  This is my new favorite evening juice. Check out the recipe below, I thought I would add a little more tonight as I have 4 hours before bed time, and I have just worked out.  So I need to make sure I have enough nutrients. Not P90x working out, but the stretches from my Physio. So, enjoy the recipe! Ciao everyone…

Recipe:

  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 sticks of Celery
  • 1 handful of Spinach
  • 1/2 Cucumber

  • 4 Strawberries

Juicing Day 8 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Alright! Let’s get started.  This is going to be a quick one, as I have to finish a spreadsheet for the wedding!

Dinner was basically my salad from lunch, I had a load of it left over.  Enough actually that I might even have salad for lunch tomorrow!  I really have to learn about portions when making salads lol

Should be good.  Feeling awesome today!  I am not feeling drained.  I have increased my fruit and veg intake throughout the day.  I think I was short-changing myself on the food front.  Although I was way under the calorie count, I was still only having the three juices. and some fruit.  But now I need to add another meal to this plan, and more fruit too.

So I just go called down, my cousin has joined me on the fast.  She is not following it as strictly as I am, but is doing really well! She was BBQ’ing some Aubergines covered in flour made from some beans, some onions and some Mogo (Cassava). Smells so good! But alas I have eaten enough, my belly is full! I should have taken a picture before they started eating.  There was so much, even the neighbors got a take away!

Back to the juices tomorrow! Good luck to me…

Juicing Day 7 – Dinner (jointhereboot.com)

Whoop whoop!

I just could not manage the juices this evening.  Hell, even lunch was a salad.  But dinner was AMAZING!

Pictures speak a thousand words, mine to the left says things got burnt! lol Well, the picture is not wrong.  We did burn things a little.  We ran out of gas on the BBQ and had to use the stove inside, neither my cousin nor I were prepared for this.  Setting the gas too high to begin with.

Even though things were a little burnt, they tasted so good! So what did we have I hear you ask?  Actually I am not sure anyone is even asking!  Leave a comment to prove someone is really out there!! lol

I feel so good right now.  Belly is content, and I feel like I may actually sleep properly tonight. Here’s hoping. It does feel different to have the juice, I feel like I have eaten something.  This has a lot to do with the salt that was added. It’s all psychological, I just have to break through the barrier and get back to my juices. This will require more will power and a lot of work!

Ingredients:

  • Grilled – Portobello Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Garlic Cloves, Broccoli and Onion
  • Salad – Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado and Cucumber
  • Salt and pepper
